MAY 27, 2018 - WORK DAY AT BATOUCHE - GETTING READY FOR EASTERNS

Our thanks are due to Harrison Brown, Ken Kyle, Gordon Holloway, Adam MacDonald and Laura Kaderly for their hard work last Sunday at the Batouche ranges. They prepared a number of target frames for the Eastern F-Class Championships which will be held there later in June.
This crew of dedicated workers stripped the paper from 10 targets, repaired much of the shot out coreplast, glued on ICFRA targets, ferried (1 at a time) and set up 7 targets. They then shot at and calibrated these targets for electronic scoring. Then back again and the targets were safely stored for the big opening day. They tell me it was a long day in a pretty hot sun. Thanks folks for your work!!

May 12, 2018 - MEMORIAL/MACGILLIVRAY MATCH - RESULTS

Memorial/ MacGillivray - CoF: 2+15@ 900, 900,900
The Memorial/ MacGillivray Match was held at the Batouche Ranges on Base Gagetown on Saturday. Don Coleman was Match Director  and Adam MacDonald directed E-Target setup.

It was a ideal sunny day with temperatures 8C rising to 14C by the end of the shooting. The winds varied from 15 to 20 km/hr from the southwest with Gusts to 30 to keep things interesting and bug free. It was a good day to get reacquainted with mirage and wind reading.

Frequent magpies and occasional outers plagued many shooters although Adam MacDonald managed a 23 point gap over second place and had a firm grip on wind conditions.

Thanks to everyone who helped out today.

RESULTS - TR CLASS:
Don Coleman - 65.2 + 70.4 + 71.4 = 205.10
Mark McMullen - 63.2 + 61.3 + 70.3 = 194.8

RESULTS - FTR CLASS:
MacDonald - 70.5 + 71.4 + 70.3 = 211.12
Gordon Holloway - 64.2 + 61.2 + 63.1 = 188.5
Ken Kyle - 60.2 + 59.2 + 64.4 = 183.8
Paul Bastarache - 58.2 + 64.0 + 61.2 = 183.4
Harrison Brown - 61.1 + 52.2 + 65.5 = 178.8

RESULTS - FO CLASS:

There were 10 contestants plus the match director. We were honored to have a visit from
two PEI Rifle Association contestants Chris Feng and Tyler Nichols.
We were also pleased to welcome first-time FTR shooter James Smith from Saint John.
The match opened under conditions of strong gusty winds which slowed down a bit in
the afternoon. But it was pleasantly sunny all day.
Match fees of $250 (10 shooters @ $25) will be given by Conrad to Ken Kyle, Fullbore Treasurer.

APRIL 28, 2018 - RANGE MAINTENANCE AND SHOOT

The first outing for New Brunswick Fullbore shooters took place this Saturday with a good crew of eager people on hand to perform range maintenance tasks and to shoot a little in the afternoon.

This from Adam MacDonald:
"We had originally planned to build three new target frames for the Eastern's, but when we arrived at the range for the first time this year, we found that we actually had 10 serviceable targets only needing repair. We replaced about half of the legs on the targets and also decided to double-up all the legs which was the best approach to stiffen the targets for accuracy with the e-target system.

This was hard work and I thank everyone for contributing. ("Everyone" included Adam MacDonald, Gord Holloway, Harrison Brown, Roly Trainor, Ken Kyle, Don Coleman, Chris Henderson, Mark McMullen and Laura Kaderly).
Once we finally started shooting at around 1-2pm, we were greeted by excellent weather and challenging winds at 900 meters. It was an ideal start to the year."
